MGR Educational and Charitable Trust is a Non-Profit Organization registered under The Indian Trusts Act, 1882 vide., Reg.No.169/2023 dated 25.04.2023 by a service oriented members in the name of renowned person MGR. Founded in April 2023, our trust is committed to bridging the socio-economic gap for underprivileged women, fostering their growth and economic independence. Our trust is dedicated to uplifting women through education, skill development, and economic empowerment, we also provide women with innumerable opportunities and facilities to live a dignified life.

Problem statement:

Underprivileged families face significant economic challenges, necessitating women to contribute to household income. However, these women often lack access to resources, education, and job opportunities, hindering their ability to participate meaningfully in economic decision-making.

This stark reality underscores the need for targeted interventions that address the unique challenges faced by women from disadvantaged backgrounds.


Transportation Barriers and Safety Concerns:

Regrettably, women in our location face formidable obstacles en route to their workplaces. Limited transportation options force them to walk 5-6 km daily to reach their workplaces includes financial strains to take own transport, exposing them to heightened risks of crime and harassment. This precarious situation underscores the need for reliable, safe transportation solutions.


Digital Divide and Employment Hurdles 

Furthermore, Graduated students in our community struggle to secure employment due to inadequate computer skills and knowledge. In today's technology-driven job market, this skills gap severely limits their prospects. Compounding this issue, economic constraints and lack of awareness hinder access to essential training and education.


Our Programs:

Digital Literacy Initiative: (Free Computer Classes)

Empowering Women and Children through Technology by providing him skill education in Computer Classes.

 

Program Overview:

Our Free Computer Class project equips housewives, working women, school and college students with fundamental computer skills and accounting software expertise, bridging the digital divide and enhancing employability. Course Objectives is to develop basic computer proficiency, master in accounting software applications, enhance digital literacy and online navigation and foster job readiness and economic empowerment


Eligibility:

Minimum Eligibility is 12th  Standard.


Age Limit:

Minimum Age Limit is 18 years.


Program Structure:

- 3 Months intensive course

- 40 students per batch

- Central Government approved certificate upon completion

 

Certification and Placement:

Upon successful completion, students receive a recognized certificate, opening doors to:


- Improved job prospects

- Enhanced career advancement

- Increased economic independence


Safe Transportation Initiative: (Women's Van Service)

Enhancing Commute Safety and Convenience for Working Women.


Program Overview:

Recognizing the challenges faced by women in our community, who walk 5-6 km daily to reach their workplaces includes financial strains to take own transport, our trust launched the Women's Van Service project to provide a secure, reliable, and convenient transportation solution. Our Objectives is to ensure safe and dignified transportation for working women, reduce fatigue and travel time, enhance overall well-being and productivity.

 

Service Details:

- Daily pick-up and drop-off from designated points

- Morning and evening schedules to accommodate work shifts

- Comfortable, well-maintained vehicles

- Trained, courteous drivers ensuring passenger safety

By providing this essential service, we aim to empower working women, fostering a more equitable and supportive community.

 

E-Service Office Initiative

As part of our commitment to supporting underprivileged families, we operate a complimentary Free E-Service Office. This dedicated facility provides access to essential services from State/Central Governments, bridging the digital divide and empowering marginalized communities.


Our E-Service Office offers:

- Assistance with online applications and forms from various State/Central Governments.

- Access to government schemes and social services


The above said service is totally free, the beneficiaries those who want to avail the State/Central Government schemes and services they don’t not need to pay any single penny.

To further our mission of empowering underprivileged communities, we envision the following key initiatives:


Education and Skill Development 

 

Computer Literacy Program:

Expand our computer basic classes to increase admission counts, focusing on digital literacy and essential skills training.


Vocational Training for Women: 

Introduce free tailoring classes, enhancing employability and economic independence for women.


Community Outreach (Van Service Project):

Enhance our van service project, expanding routes and frequencies to support working women's transportation needs.


Impact Goals

-  Foster a community of skilled, confident, and economically independent

   individuals.
